When I look in display settings, I can see the monitor and my laptop screen, so the monitor is being detected.
However, the monitor is not working over displayport. The keyboard and mouse are working perfectly, as is the ethernet port. I have connected the two via a thunderbolt cable and connected my monitor, ethernet, keyboard and mouse. However, it is the responsibility of the employee to provide their own docking station if they wish to use one for home working and so I have purchased a HP USB-C Dock G4. I have recently been provided with a new laptop from work, a HP Elitebook 840 G7.
